Mulled Apple Cider

It’s finally starting to get a little chilly outside! As much as I love summer, I’m always very excited to see the autumn colours…and the first snow! Cold weather equals staying in, cuddling in a blanket, watching movies, playing boardgames and having a nice warm drink. I always make mulled wine for the Christmas Holidays but we’re not there yet! In the meantime, let’s enjoy fall with a nice cup of mulled apple juice! Everyone can enjoy it since it doesn’t contain any alcohol. If you want to spice it up, just add an ounce or two of whisky 😉

INGREDIENTS

For the apple chips*optional

  • 1 apple, peeled and sliced very thinly
  • A pinch of cinnamon

For the cider

  • 1,5L of non-alcoholic Sweet Apple Cider
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 piece of orange peel
  • 3-4 cloves

MAKING IT

Preheat the oven at 225°. Lay your apple slices on parchment paper and sprinkle with a bit of cinnamon. Bake for 2 hours, flipping the apples after an hour. Take out of the oven and set aside.

Throw everything in a saucepan and let simmer on medium heat for 15 minutes. Strain and serve warm with some apple chips.
